Özata Shipyard at the service of the university students

Özdemir Ataseven, Chairman of the Board of Özata Shipyard, awarded with a plaque for always making the education the first priority and opening the shipyard doors to the university students for building all kinds of vehicles.

In the breakfast meeting that has become a traditional by the Engineers and Architects Group, Özdemir Ataseven was awarded with a plaque for his support to the education in universities. 

Özdemir Ataseven, Chairman of Özata Shipyard in Yalova, received his plaque from Hayri Baraçlı, Secretary General of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, and said that education is a must, and as Özata Shipyard, they will, as always, continue to provide all the support to the university students. 

Ömer Yıldız, General Director of Turkish State Railways, and Yakup Güler, General Director of City Lines, also attended the ceremony.

Among the universities supported by Özdemir Ataseven are Marmara University, Karadeniz Technical University, Yıldız Technical University, and Piri Reis University. 

This year, the students of Marmara University will represent our country with the vehicle, the cabin section of which they have built from carbon in Özata Shipyard, in the competition to be organized in London. 

The students of Marmara University are aiming to achieve a big success in London with the vehicle supported by Özata Shipyard. In this organization, the university teams will race with Eco-Marathon prototype and city concept vehicles using one of the renewable energy sources; Gasoline, CNG, Ethanol, Diesel, Hydrogen or Battery Electric.  

This year, as Hydro Marmara team, they will race with a prototype vehicle in the hydrogen fuel classification. In this classification, the purpose is to travel the longest distance with 1 liter hydrogen. The vehicles must complete the 8 laps of total 18 km in maximum 43 minutes. 

On the other side, the paddle boat built by the students of Yıldız Technical University with unlimited support of Özata Shipyard, participated the races held in Vienna last year. 

Apart from this, the students of Piri Reis University have achieved ranks in the races they participated this year with the paddle boat they built in Özata Shipyard, and promoted Turkey’s name.
