The 13th ship built for İzmir Metropolitan Municipality at Özata Shipyard was launched
The 13th of the 15 carbon composite ships built at Özata Shipyard for İzmir Metropolitan Municipality was launched.
The 13th catamaran type, carbon composite-hulled ship built at Özata Shipyard for İzmir Metropolitan Municipality for passenger transportation via fast and comfortable ships with the cutting-edge technology was launched at the weekend.
THE FIRST ONE WAS LAUNCHED ON 26 DECEMBER 2013
The first of the 15 ships to be used by the IZMIR Metropolitan Municipality in the gulf transportation was launched at Özata Shipyard in Yalova on December 21, 2013.
The catamaran type passenger ship having a carbon composite hull was started to be built in Özata Shipyard in June 2013 following the completion of the tender process. It is 39-meter long, 11.6-meter wide and has a capacity of 420+6 passengers and a speed of 18 knots. The last ships which are currently under construction will provide a service speed of 30 knots. These ships are considered environmentally-friendly as they are very durable thanks to their materials, and more economical in terms of fuel by their lightness.
