Özata Shipyard to build two ferryboats for Kenya Ferry Services
The first welding process has been made for the two ferryboats to be built at Yalova Özata Shipyard for Kenya Ferry Services of Kenya Ministry of Transportation.
The ferryboats to be built at Özata Shipyard will be 85-meter long, 18-meter wide and has a capacity of carrying 60 vehicles, and will transport passengers and vehicles between Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda having a cost on Lake Victoria.
Delivering a speech at the first welding ceremony of the ferryboats to be built for Kenya Ferry Services, Chairman of Özata Shipyard´s Board of Directors Özdemir Ataseven said that these ferryboats are designed to carry passengers along with vehicles.
The Kenyan Secretary of Ministry of Transportation, and Kenya´s Ambassador to Ankara, and officials from Özata Shipyard attended the ceremony for the placement of the ferryboat keels on the slipway.
